Games Barn/Skittle Alley Burgate Farmhouse Beautiful half acre garden
Thatched Farmhouse - Burgate Farmhouse is a picturesque 15th Century thatched property (dating from 1480) - once a genuine farmhouse - now a Grade II listed building. The two cottage wings (Wishing Well, sleeping 6 and Little Thatch sleeping 2-4) are each self-contained & can be booked individually or together (although they do not connect). Facilities - Both cottages have colour TV, DVD players & CD/radio cassettes & are beautifully appointed with a homely feel. There is a DVD library for your use. Freeview boxes are installed (in lounge for Little Thatch & in master bedroom for Wishing Well). Linen - There is no charge for bed linen. All beds will be made up ready for your arrival. Tea towels are provided. Towel hire can be arranged (£1 per person) Hair dryer - I have a hair dryer that you can borrow. Cot/highchair - There are 2 cots and 2 highchairs available (no charge). Dogs are welcome at a small charge of £7 per week. (NB dogs must not be left unattended in property without prior agreement with owner). Little Thatch has a secure back yard/garden area for dogs. Electricity is by meter (£1 coins) Heating is by night storage heaters (which 'boost' in the afternoons). There are also convector heaters in most rooms for 'top up heat' in the winter or useful for cool summer evenings when the storage heaters are switched off. Bathrooms have heated towel rails and electric fan heaters. Laundry Room - A small charge is made to use the washing machine and tumble drier (powder & fabric softener supplied). Grocery Deliveries - You are welcome to order your groceries online & arrange for delivery for the morning of your arrival. I will be happy to accept delivery for you & put your items into the fridge/freezer/cupboards etc. Please let me know the 'time slot' that you have booked (NB please give my telephone number as contact when you make the order - 01425 655909). Parking - There is plenty of parking space in the large gravel area between the cottages & the garden for many cars. Garden - The half-acre garden is mainly lawn & trees & has a summer house, garden furniture, swings and BBQ for your enjoyment. There is also an area for children's ball games with a football net.
Games Barn - This is a wonderful retreat for
rainy days as well as being a spacious meeting place for larger parties.
The Barn contains a skittle alley, pool table, table tennis table, dartboard
& many children's toys. Wireless Broadband - Free internet access is available (bring your own wi-fi enabled laptop). Access Statement -- Each year I undergo an Inspection by VisitBritain 'Quality in Tourism'. As part of this quality assessment, I am required to provide an 'Access Statement'. This is to inform potential customers clearly about the services that I provide - with particular regard to any specific access issues that a guest may have eg width of doors, steps into rooms, bath access, space around beds, lighting issues etc. A full copy of my Access Statement is available by contacting me by e-mail (mailto:admin@burgatefarm.freeserve.co.uk) or by ringing 01425 655909. A copy can be sent to you by e-mail or by post. If a copy is required in a larger font, then please ask.
